With funding from NHS Charities Together, Cardiff & Vale Health Charity have supported the refurbishment of the courtyard for the Community Nutrition and Dietetic Service at Riverside Health Centre.
The refurbishment allowed for a new bike shelter for staff, supporting safe cycle storage and enabling sustainable travel to work. A number of picnic tables were also purchased for staff to enjoy their lunch in a soothing outdoor environment. A garden tool kit was also gifted to the service to allow for easy maintenance and care of the outdoor space and plants.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, the refurbishment enabled staff to meet safely and take breaks with suitable facilities. The courtyard still receives positive feedback from staff and the bike shelter is used and appreciated daily.
Staff also received a number of screens to go between desks, allowing staff to feel safer when practicing social distancing as well as reducing the noise level in the area.
