Zaloa, a senior ITU nurse (sat on the mini bicycle in the photo) was unfortunately not able to partake in the cycle, so she helped the team by delivering tents and equipment.
Congratulations to the ITU team based at the University Hospital of Wales on completing the cycle from Brecon to Cardiff! Raising funds for education programmes for the Critical Care Nursing department, the team set out to start the cycle in Cardiff to Brecon via West Wales and back to Cardiff via Usk from 11-13th September 2021.
The team set off at 10am on Saturday, and apart from taking some unexpected detours on the way there, everyone rested at Pencelli Castle Camping, and completed the second part of their cycle on Sunday.
Zaola said: “Spirits were high and it was a lush experience that brought us closer. Strongly recommend this type of charity activities for ITU fundraising. Who knows, maybe we can do another cheeky cycle for Christmas! This time, people from other departments could take part? New recruit alert!!!”
