Supported by the Staff Lottery, the Health & Wellbeing Fayre is being hosted on Tuesday 16th May at Barry Memorial Hall, and will be the first of its kind being held in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. This event is a great opportunity for local communities to come together and explore the wide array of services and groups that can support them to be more active, and empower them to make positive changes for their Health and Wellbeing. Health, leisure and community run services have been invited to host a stall, to share the benefits of participating in each service.

Throughout the day, attendees will also have the chance to participate in a series of free 20-minute workshops that will cover a range of topics and are designed to equip individuals with practical knowledge and tools to improve their overall wellbeing.

Liz Willey, Physiotherapist at Barry Hospital, said: “We hope that as a result of attending the Fayre, our population will make small changes to be more active physically as well as actively engaged in their community, resulting in both physical and mental health benefits.”

The Staff Lottery Bids Panel are thrilled to have supported the event, recognizing its positive impact on the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan communities by enhancing their health and wellbeing. The fayre also provides an excellent opportunity for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board staff to establish valuable connections with health, leisure, and community services in an aim to promote greater collaboration and the co-production of future events and services that will further benefit the local communities.
