Cardiff & Vale Health Charity is pleased to announce Valerie Jensen, Welcome Team Volunteer, has been crowned Health Hero for June, coinciding with National Volunteer Week.

Valerie is a committed and valued Welcome Team Volunteer at the Outpatient Clinics, UHW, and has been dedicating her time to Cardiff and Vale University Health Board for 10 years. Throughout the decade, she has made a real impact within Voluntary Services with her positive attitude and enthusiasm.

“Val goes above and beyond, showing empathy when people are distressed or upset, ensuring they are guided to the right support.”

Helena Robertson Reid, the Voluntary Services Manager, said: “Val has always been dedicated to her volunteering and supporting others. All staff would agree her presence at outpatients is reassuring to patients who attend, her friendly and proactive approach really enhances the experience people have. Val is so deserving of being nominated and I am so pleased she is our Health Hero for June.”
