Robotic Surgery Campaign

Every minute matters. Every operation matters. Every donation matters.
Across Wales, thousands of people face cancer surgery every year.
For many patients, surgery means a lengthy hospital stay, an increased risk of complications and a longer recovery away from family, work and everyday life.
But a new generation of technology is changing that.
Can you help us raise the remaining £500,000 needed to fully fund the robotic platform?
Cardiff & Vale Health Charity is raising funds to bring an additional Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) platform to Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, helping more patients receive life-changing, precision surgery closer to home.
This pioneering technology allows surgeons to operate with remarkable accuracy, using enhanced 3D vision and highly precise movements that can reach areas of the body conventional surgery cannot.
The results can be life-changing:
- Faster recovery
- Fewer complications
- Less time in hospital
- Smaller scars
- Earlier return to normal life
- Greater access to cutting-edge cancer treatments and research
For some patients, a hospital stay that would previously have lasted seven days can be reduced to just four, with some returning home the very next day.
Cardiff and Vale is Wales’ major tertiary centre for specialist surgery and clinical care. Every year, hundreds of patients benefit from robotic surgery, but demand is growing rapidly and our current platform is already used to maximum capacity.
An additional robotic platform would allow surgical teams to:
- Double the number of operations each year
- Treat more cancer patients
- Reduce waiting times
- Expand access across multiple specialties
- Support pioneering research and clinical trials
- Help keep world-class surgical expertise here in Wales
Without investment, patients could miss opportunities to benefit from the latest advances in cancer treatment.
With your support, we can change that.
Imagine hearing the words, “You have cancer.”
Imagine being told you need major surgery.
Now imagine recovering more quickly, spending less time in hospital, avoiding intensive care and getting back to the people who matter most sooner.
That is the difference Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) can make. And that is the difference your donation can make.
Whether you give £10, £100, £10,000 or £100,000, every donation brings us one step closer to funding an additional robotic platform.
