Cardiff & Vale Health Charity is pleased to announce Sue Friis-Jones, Primary Care Support Manager, has been crowned Health Hero for December.

Sue has worked in Cardiff and Vale Primary Care for over 30 years in various departments, earning a vast amount of knowledge and building excellent working relationships with many people and departments.

Jen Pugh and Caroline Sharp, Wellbeing Champions with the Primary Care Team said, “If Sue doesn’t know the answer to something, which is very rare in itself, she’ll know the person that does. Sue will go above and beyond for anyone that needs her help, always willing to take colleagues under her wing, and supporting everyone in any way she can.

“For many years, Sue ran the Primary, Community, and Intermediate Care (PCIC) tuck shop at Woodland House which was hugely popular, and kept friends and colleagues fuelled up with lots of lovely treats and drinks. Sue is always organising fun events in the office such as sweepstakes for sporting events, team collections, and of course her famous Christmas quiz.”

Outside of work, Sue is a very well-established Scout leader which she has done for many years, previously also leading other groups such as the Girl Guides. Her work and dedication to these groups had led her to meet and make a difference to many young people’s lives, and her adventures with them have taken her all over the world.

Jen and Caroline continued, “In short, Sue is just an absolutely wonderful person. She’s Sue-perb!”

Sue will be Health Hero for the month of December and will receive a treat from sponsors Park Plaza Cardiff. She is delighted with the award nomination.

The Health Hero Award is supported by Cardiff & Vale Health Charity and Park Plaza Cardiff.
