Robin Rees is a master’s student at the University of South Wales Studying ‘Arts Practice: Arts, Health & Wellbeing’. As part of the course, Robin is aiming to enable meaningful creative activity between individuals with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and/or dementia, and their primary carers, and identify barriers that could be preventing this.

To decide whether  the  project is effective, Robin need s to test it in its intended setting and gain feedback in order to see what is working, what isn’t, and how  it can develop to better meet the needs of those with Alzheimer’s/dementia and their carers.

Robin is looking for volunteers with a diagnosis of early to moderate-stage Alzheimer’s/dementia who are receiving support from a primary carer, or are a primary carer providing support for someone with early to moderate-stage Alzheimer’s/dementia; no previous creative experience is necessary.

The trial will run until 12/03/21. Once consent forms have been signed and received, participants will be posted a kit containing materials, instructions, and feedback documents. Participants will ideally need to dedicate approximately two hours per week to the creative projects (there are 5 in total) and ten minutes each evening to complete the ‘gratitude’ activity.

If you meet the requirements mentioned and you are interested in participating in the trail, please email Robin for more information.
