Well done and thank you to Chris Lipscombe, who ran an incredible 48.6 miles from Port Talbot to Cardiff Bay, via Barry Island – more than 1.5 marathons – on 15th April 2017. He and all his sponsors raised a fabulous £1,300 to help build a new ward at the All Wales Adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit!

Chris said, “The whole run took me 9 hours and 30 minutes. The hardest part was running up the A48, because it was really long, I had leg cramps and I was entirely on my own. But it all got easier at Barry, when my family and friends met me with party poppers, and then helped me celebrate with a couple of pints in Cardiff Bay! Thank you to everyone for being so supportive, I couldn’t have done this without you, and your generosity is just amazing.”

Before the run, Chris (who himself has cystic fibrosis) said that he was taking on this challenge for those who are too poorly to run – ‘because we fight this disease together.’
