Cardiff & Vale Health Charity is pleased to announce Jason Green, Security/Receptionist, servicing Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, has been crowned Health Hero for October.

Always cheerful and helpful, Jason works at Woodland House and is always very kind in coming upstairs with messages and deliveries to ensure they arrive at the correct department, sorting out room bookings, and maintaining security.

Louise Young, Professional Development Co-ordinator within Children, Young People and Family Health Services said, “Jason has always been a proactive and supportive member of the team since we moved to Woodland House, marshalling visitors and candidates for interviews, parcels and equipment, builders and Estates staff at the front of house.

“During the pandemic, he took a huge number of deliveries in for Children, Young People & Family Health Services (and others) of PPE for our staff, delivering them to my desk for distribution to our community staff across Cardiff and Vale.”

Since the start of the Mass Vaccination Centre at Woodland house, Jason has been on the frontline of dealing with queries from staff, difficulties with car parking and members of the public who are lost trying to find the Mass Vaccination Centre or change an appointment. It has been a particularly challenging time in Reception!

Louise continued to say, “It has been hectic and incredibly busy for him but he continues to be just as kind, helpful and patient – often diffusing situations with humour despite his job now being very challenging – theft of rental bikes, minor car damage in the car park, drones over the Mass Vaccination Centre!”

The Health Charity team would also like to add, “Jason goes above and beyond every day and is immensely helpful to everyone in the Health Charity Team. Very well deserved, Jason. We hope you enjoy your prize of Gentleman’s Afternoon tea for 2 at Park Plaza.”

Jason will be Health Hero for the month of October and will receive a treat from sponsors Park Plaza Cardiff. He is delighted with the award nomination.

The Health Hero Award is supported by Cardiff & Vale Health Charity and Park Plaza Cardiff.
