Cardiff & Vale Health Charity is extremely grateful to everyone who has supported our Staff Havens at Dragon’s Heart Hospital, University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough during the past six weeks.

Smaller hospitals such as St. David’s Hospital, Barry Hospital and Rookwood Hospital have also been receiving regular food deliveries.

The time has now come to bring the free food provision to all hospitals throughout Cardiff and Vale University Health Board to a close on Friday 29 May 2020.  The provision of free hot and chilled meals will no longer be facilitated by Cardiff & Vale Health Charity after this date.

Staff will still be able to access food at Y Gegin at University Hospital of Wales and The Dining Room at University Hospital Llandough.

Simone Joslyn, Head of Arts and Health Charity at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support of everyone in the local community, especially Kasim at Waterloo Tea, James Sommerin, #FEEDNHS and Simon Llewellyn at The Sausage Revolution.

“We’ve had some really lovely feedback from staff saying how much they have enjoyed receiving meals and treat boxes to their working areas which has really boosted morale during a difficult time.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their donations to our staff – it has made a huge difference to those on the frontline.”
