Staff Lottery funding was recently granted to the Occupational Health Department to improve and update the appearance of the staff waiting area.

The Occupational Health Team provides information and resources to Cardiff and Vale University Health Board staff, to assist them with maintaining and improving their wellbeing both at work and in their personal lives.

To improve the service user experience, the Occupational Health Team have made a large room within the department available to be adapted into a waiting area for staff attending the department, as the current waiting room is very small.

Staff Lottery funding was granted to the department to make the necessary environment improvements. This included the procurement of new flooring, additional seating, as well as bright and joyful wall décor.

Mark Dunford, the Specialist Lead Practitioner at the Occupational Health Department, said: “This project would ensure that service users have a positive experience when attending the department. This is something we are passionate about in order to put our service users firmly at the centre of our care model.”

Cardiff & Vale Health Charity were delighted to support the project as it will have a lasting positive impact on the wellbeing of CAVUHB staff working at the department, as well as their colleagues who use the service.
