Everyone at Cardiff & Vale Health Charity would like to say a huge thank you to Daniel Rowlands who decided to cycle up Rhiwbina Hill, all in aid of helping the staff of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board during the COVID-19 pandemic!
Daniel, 11 years old and who lives in Rhiwbina wanted to show his support for the NHS staff tirelessly working across Cardiff and the Vale and decided to start fundraising. Daniel set out to continuously cycle up Rhiwbina Hill without stopping during his daily exercise. On Saturday 18th April 2020, Daniel completed the 2,893 metre challenge all in one go, well done Daniel! In total, Daniel raised a fantastic £383.75, which he wished to donate to Cardiff & Vale Health Charity to help support our NHS heroes!
Daniel said “Seeing how amazing all the NHS staff are being in helping all of us, I wanted to do something to help all those working hard in the face of this pandemic. My dad set me the goal of cycling up Rhiwbina Hill without stopping and said he would donate £15 to Cardiff & Vale Health Charity if I did. I thought I’d see if I could raise more”.
Daniel did in fact raise much more and we at Cardiff & Vale Health Charity very much appreciate this act of kindness. On behalf of all the NHS teams here in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, we thank Daniel from the bottom of our hearts for his inspiring kindness and generosity once again.
