Cardiff & Vale Health Charity recently held its annual Pink Tie Gala Dinner at Cardiff Marriott raising over £7,000 for The Breast Centre Appeal which supports breast cancer patients with their recovery.

Almost 200 people attended the event, which was supported by the Publicity Centre, Nathaniel Cars and many other local businesses and organisations including Cardiff Blues and Cardiff City Football Club. Former patients, staff, families and supporters came along, wearing pink ties and pink evening dresses to raise money and show their support to the appeal.

The event opened with a rousing performance from a fabulous choir to start the evening off in style.

The evening was compered by TV star Justine Jones, who kindly supports the appeal on an annual basis and assists in other Breast Centre events throughout the year such as the hugely successful Strictly Top Dancer dance competition.

The welcome address was provided by Consultant Oncoplastic Surgeon at the Breast Centre, Mr Sumit Goyal.

A quick game of boobs and bums (heads and tails!) took place before dinner commenced. During dinner guests were entertained by singing waiters Holly and Leighton who had the crowd on their feet, waving napkins aloft. An auction and raffle took place with fabulous prizes such as signed football and rugby jerseys, a Wales football training camp experience, and an exclusive yurt escape all donated by generous sponsors.

Sue Dickson-Davies, Senior Fundraiser at Cardiff & Vale Health Charity helped organise the event said: “I’d like to thank everyone for coming along to this event which raises money to enhance patient care for those going through their breast cancer treatment journey. The event was fantastic and I’d like to say a special thanks to Mandy Weston and Cariann Emanuelli from Wize Virtual Admin who with their team help us to deliver this fantastic event year on year and raise much needed funds for the Breast Centre Appeal.”

The next Breast Centre event is a delicious G & Tea afternoon tea which is being held on Friday 20th March 2020 at 2pm at the Park Inn, Cardiff.  To book tickets please email fundraising.cav@wales.nhs.uk
