Good luck to Owain Wilkins who is running the Stockholm Marathon on 3 June to raise money for the Haematology Unit, whose care for a wonderful and much missed Mam remains deeply appreciated.

Owain says “The Haematology Unit became a second home to Gaynor, and the meticulous care and friendly support she received undoubtedly contributed to her remarkable quality of life living with blood cancer for over two and half years. In recognition of the excellent care and treatment provided by all staff throughout Gaynor’s illness, I will raise donations in memory of a beautiful Mam and wife, to assist others facing a similar experience.

It would have been Gaynor’s birthday on 4 June, so the Stockholm Marathon seemed as good an opportunity as any to get fit and raise some funds! I have been training for more than three months and feel just about ready”
