Huge thank you to 12-year-old Dylan Llewellyn who recently walked an incredible 100,856 steps and raised £1,816 for the Artificial Limb & Appliance Centre, as they helped his Uncle Richard after having his leg amputated earlier this year.

Dylan said: “Last Christmas Eve last year my very special Auntie Agnes and Uncle Richard found out they had Covid 19. On the 11th January this year, my Auntie Agnes sadly passed away whilst at the same time my Uncle Richard was having to have his leg amputated, all due to Covid 19”. “I wanted to try and achieve walking 100,000 steps in ONE day to raise funds for one of the fantastic organisations who have helped my Uncle Richard, The Artificial Limb and Appliance Centre based at Rookwood Hospital”.

The planned route was around 35 miles long and his Dad Jason, said, “Our inspiration and our beautiful Son that showed me no matter how much pain you are in you can achieve anything and still keep smiling. He came home to a well-deserved hero’s welcome from the avenue clapping and cheering at 10pm after doing 100,856 steps 67kilometers in 17hrs and 20mins. He truly is an amazing 12year old young man. Thank you to all who walked and supported him through his challenge and donated so generously”.

The planned route is around 35 miles long and will take Dylan over 12 hours, so please show him and Uncle Richard support by donating to his JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Dylis28
