The Dental Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit were granted a section of new furniture through funding from NHS Charities together to enhance the unit’s staff room.
The Dental Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit provide decontamination services to various clinics and departments within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and staff worked a considerable amount of additional hours to keep up with demands during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Prior to this funding, the staff room had just one table and for chairs between the fourteen members of staff using the room for lunch breaks and rest times.
The funding granted allowed for new furniture to be purchased for the staff room with enough table space and seats facilitate all members of staff. The refurbishment was greatly appreciated by staff who can now enjoy their breaks in comfort.
