A Consultant Paediatric Haematologist will be parting with her waist-length hair so that she can donate it to a charity. The Little Princess Trust creates real hair wigs for children and young people up to the age of 24 that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Dr Thakur is also set to raise money for children with haemoglobinopathies (like sickle cell disease an thalassemia), the other patient group she looks after, and says “These children have a lifelong disorder which often bestows upon them a quality of life worse than for children with cancer. I hope the money raised will go at least a small way in helping them out”.
The hair cut will take place 5th October 2018 at Maine Hair Studio, Crwys Road, Cardiff.
