The Llais Group and Reception children from Cogan Primary School recently raised funds to support Our Health Meadow, the innovative green space at University Hospital Llandough. The school children made bird feeders, sold them at school, and donated the proceeds to Our Health Meadow. This act of kindness not only contributes to the meadow’s vision but also promotes biodiversity for the buyers’ gardens.

In addition to supporting the meadow, the children celebrated the NHS turning 75, expressing gratitude to healthcare staff at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Making bird feeders also helped the children practice fine motor skills and celebrate their achievements.

Our Health Meadow’s vision is to establish an ecological community health park which aims to benefit wildlife, plants and people through positive human environment interaction. In collaboration with Down to Earth, the volunteer sessions held at Our Health Meadow have been benefitting not only the landscape, but also patients and staff of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, as well as the wider community.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all school children and staff who contributed to Our Health Meadow. Your support is deeply appreciated.
