Cardiff & Vale Health Charity has been announced as a Charity Finalist in the Cardiff Life Awards 2019.

The Cardiff Life Awards are the business highlight of the city. They are the most prestigious, most tightly contested Awards with the greatest number of local companies involved. Winning a Cardiff Life Award is a powerful accolade.

Backed by a massive marketing campaign, the event has become a huge celebration of businesses in Cardiff and the local area, where organisations nominate themselves and a panel of independent judges decide the winners.

Cardiff & Vale Health is the official charity of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and it supports one of the largest hospital establishments in Europe.

Simone Joslyn, Head of Arts and Health Charity said: “With contributions from our fantastic army of fundraisers and donors, our charity assists our staff, our hospitals and helps the population of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

“Our fundraisers helped us to raise £1.46 million during last year, and we’re so grateful for their support.

“Our fundraisers take many forms, from our staff on wards raising money to improve services to patients.  Patients fundraise for us to say thank you for the care they have received.  Families fundraise to give something back to the hospital to say thank you for looking after a family member and the local community choose us as a cause to support.

“The Health Charity is also lucky enough to have large businesses and sporting organisations who choose us as their chosen charity of the year.

“It’s not just our fundraisers and donors who help us, without our volunteers we wouldn’t be able to host fantastic events and collections – I’d like to thank everyone for their continued support.”

The winners will be announced at a glittering Awards dinner on Thursday 21 March 2019 at City Hall, Cardiff.
