Everyone at Cardiff & Vale Health Charity would like to say a massive congratulations to the Admiral Customer Contact Strategy (CCS) Team who climbed the heights of Pen Y Fan for Cardiff & Vale Health Charity.

On 4th October 2019, which was one of the wettest and coldest days of the year, nineteen members of the team battled the elements to reach the summit of the highest peak in South Wales to raise money for the Gynaecology Oncology department. The team decided to fundraise for the department to say a big thank you to all the staff who cared for their friend and colleague, Linda Preinl.

Linda, shown right was described by her colleagues as a kind, wonderful and creative who woman sadly passed away too soon. Linda and her partner Gwen, both spoke very highly of the support and care which they received during this truly difficult time and for this reason the team wanted the Gynae Oncology department to benefit from their fundraising.

The team raised a fantastic £2,040 via their JustGiving page to benefit both the department and its patients. They hope this will give the department the opportunity to purchase the equipment they require to help and support others into the future.

The team said: “We did it! We thoroughly enjoyed completing the walk which was a huge achievement for us all. We all hope Linda would have been proud, if not slightly amused at the post walk sogginess of the team. Linda will be sadly missed by us all but we hope that raising this money in her memory will make a real difference to both staff and patients within the department.”

Cardiff & Vale Health Charity very much appreciates this act of kindness and on behalf of the many people who will benefit from their generosity, we thank all members of the CCS Team once again.
