Alongside performing in their finest outfits, the team have been holding tributes for our frontline staff which have included sharing the rainbow love and also a baking challenge on social media raising another £230 on through Go Fund Me.

Owner of the Golden Cross, Rob Burnett and his partner Chris got in the spirit and did a drag up, where Baroness Mary Golds and Joanna Bumme transformed Rob and Chris into their drag doubles raising another £830.
The team also kindly delivered chocolates to frontline staff on Mother’s Day which was greatly appreciated by those on the wards.
Tracey Young, Doorperson at the Golden Cross got involved in raising money for the Health Charity by holding a birthday fundraiser, reaching £370 – thank you Tracey!
Rob said: “As the lockdown commenced, we carried on with our cabaret via social media and whilst it kept us occupied we felt frustrated that we couldn’t physically help those working for our local NHS, so the obvious thing to do was to set about raising funds!
“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers, but like us, they wanted to help, so as always, my appreciation goes to all of our fantastic customers and supporters who helped us help some of our local heroes.”

Simone Joslyn, Head of Arts and Health Charity said: “I’d like to thank Rob and the team at the Golden Cross for all their support. The kindness shown to our staff at this time has been fantastic and we’re really grateful for everyone’s donations. I’ve really enjoyed watching the artists taking part in a song for charity. Watching the transformation of Rob and Chris into drag queens by Mary Golds and Joanna Bumme really made my day – thank you!”
