Cardiff & Vale Health Charity has recently supported Phoenix Community by providing new furniture for their staff room from Covid-19 Funds, helping to make a better working environment for staff.
Phoenix Community is an adult mental health rehabilitation unit in Cardiff. The average length of stay for patients is between 12-24 months.
Staff at Phoenix Community provide 24 hour nursing cover, seven days a week, helping patients with practical things such as shopping, cooking and managing money.
Phoenix Community staff help patients to learn or regain skills in a safe, nurturing environment where they can be encouraged to rise to challenges, feel secure enough to risk making mistakes and learn from these experiences. Staff are on hand to monitor and assess progress and serve as role models.
Owen Baglow, Deputy Ward Manager, Phoenix Community said: “On behalf of all the staff at the Phoenix Community, I would like to say a massive thank you to the fundraising staff in the Charity office for making the staff room in the Phoenix possible. The break out space that has been funded by the Health Charity from the Covid-19 fund has gone a long way to improving staff moral and wellbeing within the workplace.”
