The Orchard Golf Society recently made an incredibly kind donation of £1,800 to Cardiff & Vale Health Charity in support of Cardiology Services at University Hospital of Wales.
The group known as the Orchard Golf Society regularly play at the Whitchurch Golf Club, and for the past 30 years they have been holding an annual golf day to raise funds for causes close to their hearts.
One member, Mr John Minto, recently underwent major heart surgery under the expert care of Professor Deglurkar and her team, and has been making great recovery. To express their gratitude for the specialist care John received from the Cardiology Service, the Orchard Golf Society decided to donate the funds raised following this year’s golf day to the Cardiology Fund at Cardiff & Vale Health Charity.
Ian Massey, the representative of the Orchard Golf Society, said: “We are eternally grateful for the specialist care that John received. The operation was a very serious one, and the treatment he received was second to none.”
Cardiff & Vale Health Charity express their heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Orchard Golf Society. The donation will support the cardiology department run by Professor Deglurkar to assist them with providing the expert treatment and care to people undergoing major heart surgery.
