We are delighted to present the My Gratitude for Nature exhibition by Elaine Jones, an artist based in the Brecon Beacons. Her artwork depicts flora and fauna, and beautiful local landscapes.

Based in the hills just outside Llandovery I can be found in my old railway carriage studio overlooking the Brecon Beacons. Constantly inspired by my beautiful surroundings taking much inspiration from my local area. I am a self-taught artist using mainly acrylics and watercolours plus an array of other mediums and crafts. I enjoy experimenting with different textures and styles.

My work has been described as uplifting, harmonious and emotive. Works include landscapes, seascapes & florals plus more recently abstract work. I am a member of the Tywi Valley Open Studios where I open my studio doors every year to the public, during which I hope to inspire others to get creative.

My artistic journey has been of such therapeutic benefit to me during my health issues. It has made such a positive impact on my self-esteem and confidence so to be asked to be involved with the ‘Arts for Health & Wellbeing’ programme seems the perfect fit. I love the idea of my art having a positive effect in a setting such as this and to hopefully inspire others to use creativity as a form of therapy for their own health & wellbeing.
