Staff Lottery funding recently supported the Information and Recognition Day delivered to the Mass Vaccination and Testing Team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
The Mass Vaccination and Testing Team was formed during the Covid-19 pandemic, brought together from all areas of the NHS and other organisations to firstly offer testing, then immunisations. In 2024, they are now a substantive team, delivering Covid-19 and flu vaccinations across Cardiff and the Vale, and currently developing an evolving health protection support team covering such areas as delivering MMR to students in schools in Cardiff and Vale.
To reflect on the changes and developments they have gone through since 2020, the team organised an event to involve all staff, and to thank the whole department, including administrative, clinical and management staff.
The team held an Information and Recognition Day on 20th March, bringing all staff together on site to attend information sessions, followed by a variety of wellbeing sessions. Staff Lottery funding was secured to provide refreshments throughout the day as an acknowledgement of the team’s hard work.
Josie Collins, the Clinical Lead of the Mass Vaccination and Testing Team, said: “We believe it will benefit the whole department and build better relationships between them. The staff are based over several sites, this was a great opportunity to bring everyone together.”
“The aim is that the staff will feel valued, informed and happy to be part of our team.”
Throughout the day, staff members enjoyed the opportunity to meet with colleagues in person, as well as learning about ways in which they can be supported in their roles. The staff enjoyed meeting together learning about the future vision for team and taking part in some team building activities.
Cardiff & Vale Health Charity were proud to support the event, as it contributed to positive working environments and staff wellbeing across the whole team.
