10 climbs. 24 hours. 1 cause.
Graduate Management Trainee, Bevan Howells, will be climbing Pen y Fan 10 times in 24 hours on May 10th for Cardiff & Vale Health Charity.
He’ll be joining a team of seven other supporters who will be taking on the challenge for Cardiff & Vale Health Charity. The climb itself will take part in the luscious Bannau Brycheiniog, and will begin in the early evening of the 10th. To put into perspective the enormity of the challenge, Pen Y Fan stands at 2,907 feet, and Everest reaches 29,029 feet; completing the 10YFan challenge is like conquering Everest!
“I’m quite active already. I cycle, I swim, and I train 15-20 hours a week,” said Bevan, who will also be tackling IronMan Wales this year. “I’m hoping to be that person with motivation and a smile on my face with excitement; especially during the 10th climb.”
As a child, Bevan was a patient in the Children’s Hospital of Wales. He said, “I had a brain clot and was in hospital for six weeks. That experience with the nurses and doctors was incredible and that’s why I want to give back. My family have worked in the NHS and I have seen the great work Cardiff & Vale Health Charity do for patients and staff.”
