Matthew will be running the Bristol Half Marathon in support of his work colleague and friend, Hannah.
Both Matthew and Hannah work at the zoo, where they’ve become friends, they are often chatting about running, which is something they both enjoy.
One day at work, Hannah was found collapsed after having a seizure. Matthew, who was the first aider on site, stayed with her and provided support until the paramedics arrived. A few weeks later, Hannah received the devastating news that she had a cancerous tumour.
While Hannah focuses on her treatment, Matthew will be taking on the Bristol Half Marathon on her behalf. As a zookeeper, animals are her world, so Matthew will be running dressed as a skunk (Hannah’s favourite animal!) 🦨
