An insight into my therapy…. Mental health and wellbeing
Personal and artistic transformation:
At the heart of my artistic expression lies a profound exploration of mental health themes. My creations, predominantly rendered in black and white using pen and pencil, serve as symbolic windows into the human psyche. From the expansive canvas of A2 paper, I extract emotions that resonate beyond words. Described as both edgy and distinctive, my work emanates a raw power that transcends conventional expression.
Healing through creativity:
My art has been my steadfast companion through personal trials, saving as a therapeutic tool that has not only facilitated my recovery, but has also extended its embrace to others. Within its monochromatic strokes lie emotions of anger, depression, confusion and the haunting feeling of being adrift. It encapsulates the struggle for survival and the intricate nuances of mental turmoil, enabling observers to connect with shared sentiments.
Community engagement and collaboration:
My journey has intersected with diverse groups, including women’s collectives and elderly care homes. Notable collaborations include Spectrum Gallery and showcasing works at the Slam Dunk Hospital Gallery. Through these partnerships I’ve witnessed the transformative potential of art, and its ability of fostering connectivity and healing.
Sculpting beyond boundaries:
My creative odyssey extends into the realm of sculpture revealing edgy 3D artworks that mirror my unique voice. The tactile engagement with the medium serves as an additional therapeutic channel, elevating my connection to the artistic process.
