During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, breast cancer patient, Emma Sibbick, wanted to do something to give back for the amazing care she received during diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer.

In Emma’s own words, “Physio support has made such a difference to me, hugely improving my range of movement, strength and confidence. Your support will help so many people. I am forever indebted to Tor, Nat and Sarah for getting my body working again and the whole centre for being so wonderful.”

Emma’s 30 days meant challenging herself to do something physical every day for 30 days, including: circuits, pilates, swimming, recovery-friendly CrossFit, walking and cycling.

We are delighted that Emma absolutely smashed her challenge, and not only did she have the personal achievement of completing ‘Every Day for 30 Days’ but she also raised a phenomenal £4158 for our Breast Centre Appeal.

We had a little catch up with Emma once she’d had a rest! She said, “I was absolutely shattered the first day after it finished and I had a massive two hours sleep on the sofa which was quite blissful! Due to my job I know a lot of people and it’s been very humbling to have people I’ve not worked with for 15 years donate money, as well as some massive generosity too from loved ones.”

Emma also features in our Breast Centre Appeal video, highlighting the exercise prescription programme funded by the Appeal which Emma benefits so much from, and wanted to give back to.

You can of course still support Emma via her JustGiving Page and if you’re feeling inspired to do a challenge of your own, contact us on: fundraising.cav@wales.nhs.uk
