Huge congratulations and thank you to Rob Jones who recently completed the Ellesmere 10k in support of the Better Life Fund, smashing his fundraising target and raising a fantastic £572! On Sunday 27th August, with stunning scenery throughout, Rob finished the race in an amazing 1 hour 4 minutes.
The Better Life Fund supports the All Wales Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre at University Hospital Llandough, by providing additional, often expensive equipment not available through the standard NHS funding.
Rob’s motivation for taking on this challenge is deeply personal. His girlfriend, Vicky, is one of the warriors fighting against Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an inherited condition, where you inherit one faulty gene from each of your parents. If you have two faulty genes, then many surfaces in your body are unable to move salt and water properly in/out of their cells. As CF affects so many parts of your body, it can impact almost any part of your life, including your physical and mental health, wellbeing, work and relationships.
Cystic Fibrosis is a condition that affects not only the individuals diagnosed with it but also their loved ones. It demands unwavering support and understanding, which Rob Jones has exemplified through his selfless actions.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to Rob Jones for his accomplishment in completing the Ellesmere 10k and exceeding his fundraising goals.
You can still support Rob by donating to his JustGiving page.
