Cardiff & Vale Health Charity is pleased to announce Ceri Thomas, Clerical Co-Ordinator, Lung Function and Sleep Apnoea Department has been crowned Health Hero for September.

Working in the Lung Function and Sleep Apnoea department, Ceri provides leadership and structure to the administration team as Clerical Co-Ordinator. On a weekly basis she provides the department with a round up of statistics that include information like wait times, and the amount of tests completed. This information is vital for senior management to ensure forward planning is performed accurately. As well as this, she is responsible for providing the booking structure of the department, which in itself is an ever-growing task.

Corey Davies, Clinical Scientist and Clinical Lead said, “Ceri is well respected and adored by her colleagues who value her work highly. She is also an excellent communicator, not just within our team, but to all teams across Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Ceri goes above and beyond every day, and this never disgruntles her. She is an inspiration.”

Ceri is also an avid baker, and frequently organises fundraising events for the department. On a regular basis she bakes goodies for the team, fuelled by her passion for baking and encompassing the spirit of teamwork.

Corey continued to say, “Ceri hosts our annual bake off competition, sets the theme, and puts all our skills to the test! She deserves recognition for the excellent role she does, every day. Thank you.”

Ceri will be Health Hero for the month of September and will receive a treat from sponsors Park Plaza Cardiff. She is delighted with the award nomination.

The Health Hero Award is supported by Cardiff & Vale Health Charity and Park Plaza Cardiff.
