Over the long bank holiday weekend, the country celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and so did we!
To mark this special occasion, we sent 80 Jubilee boxes to our in-patient wards across our Cardiff and Vale University Health Board sites. In them we included balloons, flags, activity packs from Mental Health Matters and our Platinum Patisserie Cake Competition, a cardboard cut-out of the Queen, and cake donated by Memory Lane Cakes, Tesco, and Morrisons.
From 2nd-5th June, we were inundated with images from patients and staff enjoying the festivities. We’re so glad to have been able to boost patient and staff morale and encourage positive mental health and wellbeing with our Jubilee boxes. Many wards expanded on our Big Jubilee Tea event and organised large buffets to accompany the decorations we’d delivered. They all looked absolutely delicious!
We’re also very grateful to our staff who worked tirelessly to care for our patients over the weekend, and helped put on a fantastic few days of celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
