The Arts for Health and Wellbeing Team at Cardiff & Vale Health Charity are thrilled to receive funding for an exciting new project, A Space To Grow – Lle i Dyfu, which connects growing and creating. We are incredibly grateful to the Arts for Health and Wellbeing Lottery funding stream, Arts Council of Wales.

Through a combination of the creative arts, nature and food-based learning and sharing, we are excited to explore the distinct benefits of an innovative synergistic approach to improving wellbeing and connecting people across Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Wales.

Our year-long social prescribing project, A Space To Grow will focus on the creative opportunities that growing and sharing of food across cultures and communities can inspire, promoting connections through food, sustainability and environmental awareness in our communities, addressing food inequalities and supporting healthy communities.

We are excited to celebrate the deep connection between food, nature and the arts across different cultures, employing innovative interventions including belly-dancing for gut health, recycled film performances, innovative printing and dyeing, poetry and performance, lyrics and song writing /composition.

Our partners are Urban-Vertical CIC, Grange Medical Practice, Grangetown, a number of Cardiff and Vale UHB services, Vale of Glamorgan Libraries, Third Sector and Community Organisations and a number of artists and arts organisations including Flossy and Boo, Dewi Tennatt Lloyd, Duke Al and Amelia Unity.

Our thanks to the Arts Council of Wales for their fantastic support.
