Gerry Stacey is a long-term fundraiser for our Breast Centre Appeal, and has been supporting us since 2017 after his wife, Maxene, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016.
To continue his support of our Breast Centre Appeal, Gerry has been taking part in the annual 54321 Cymru Charity Cycle Challenge, which he completed again in May of this year, following two years of cancelled events due to Covid 19.
This time a total of 40 riders fundraised for 27 different charities, over the bank holiday weekend in May. The team rode 300km through parts of Holland and Belgium and all riders were able to choose the charity / good cause they wished to support and were rewarded with match funding from event sponsors – Tiny Rebel Ltd and Whitehead Building Services.
With the addition of this match funding, this year Gerry raised over £1,300 for our Breast Centre Appeal – bringing his total fundraising to date to over £5,000.
Sue Dickson-Davies, Senior Fundraiser and lead for the Breast Centre Appeal said, “We would like to thank Gerry once again for his continued support of our Appeal. We are so lucky to have amazing support for our Breast Centre Appeal, and we are always so grateful for those who choose to support us year after year. Gerry’s continued fundraising really does make such a difference to all of our patients at the Breast Centre, University Hospital Llandough.
“Thank you too to the event sponsors, Tiny Rebel Ltd and Whitehead Building Services who have once again donated £500 in match funding for Gerry’s brilliant fundraising.”
