A massive thank you Steven Robson aka Jean Jacques Smoothie who live streamed DJ Sets over lockdowns in both 2020 and 2021, all in aid of helping the staff of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board during the COVID-19 pandemic!

During the first lockdown in March 2020 Steven asked his friend, a Senior Nurse working on a COVID-19 ward, what the most practical thing he could encourage people to do to help her in her day to day job. Steven was told that with no visitors being allowed on the wards, that patients would really appreciate receiving toiletry items which would help put a smile on their faces.

As a result of this, Steven decided to support the Patient Experience Team via Cardiff & Vale Health Charity, who are helping brighten up patients’ days by providing them with items such as toiletries, nightwear etc. during this difficult time. Live streaming two DJ Sets during lockdowns in both 2020 and 2021, Steven managed to raise an amazing £1,375.11!

We at Cardiff & Vale Health Charity very much appreciate this act of kindness and on behalf of all the NHS teams here in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, we thank Steven from the bottom of our hearts for his inspiring kindness and generosity once again.

Frontline NHS staff go to work to keep us and our loved ones safe. The greatest thing we can do right now to return the gesture is to follow the most up to date guidelines set out by both the Welsh Government and Public Health Wales.
